From the Desk of the Pastor - King of Kings!
Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords; Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen. (1Timothy 6:15-16)
When doing the research for this piece I ran across only three scriptures that mention the title of “King of Kings.” And of those three, the above scripture text put the term into its proper prospective. You see in first of the title is this word potentate which on the surface means one who has the power and position to rule over others; a monarch. It further infers to one who dominates or leads a group or endeavor. But it is in the root word that we get a total picture of the awesome authority and power of the only Potentate. The word potent means possessing inner or physical strength; powerful and having a strong effect or influence. It also implies having great control or authority and being capable of causing strong physiological or chemical effects.
This means that Jesus was not just left the job of being King because of His position with the Father but that He is the only one with the attitude and the aptitude to be King. He was not just hired for the job but this authority is uniquely in and flows from Him. It is inherent to His nature and being. That’s why they said that He spoke as one with authority even though there was no physical reason to follow Him. That’s why the elements obeyed Him. That’s why even inanimate object had to submit to His bidding. In fact even devils had to obey Him while in their state of disobedience.
So why won’t we and shouldn’t we celebrate the coming of the King! So during this season especially sound the alarms and blow the trumpets to announce the entrance of the
